As our landing craft approaches Planet, the time has now come for us to begin to work of forming an orderly and structured society.
First I wish to thank God for this election, His mercy abounds forever. I wish to thank the other memebrs of the Fundamentalist Faction and our Allies in ACE and the Capitalist party. Finally I wish to thank all those independents and people who votes outside their party, your faith in this Administration will not be forgotten.
Our first order of business needs to be providing our people with some formal document outlining the Goverment we wish to represent them with.
To this end I wish to call for a Constitutional Committee to be formed. I ask the leaders of each Party, yes folks Party not Coalitions, to be members of this committee. Since I cannot directly work this committee as a conflict of interest I appoint Leland as the new party leader for the Fundamentalist Faction. Today I stand before you all not as a Fundamentalist, but a represenative of all the people of our colony.
I would ask my worth second in command, Darkness' Edge to join me in working as represenatives of our people, not as party members.
Now then I ask that this committee meet within the next 24 hour and provide a role call so we know all have been properly informed. Next, once this committee has properly formed I asked that within the next 7 days they present to myself and Darkness' Edge a draft of the Constitution they have completed.
My goal is that once the Committee has approved their draft and the Executives have approved the draft, we will present it to the people for discussion for a period of one week. This will have us at the 24th. At the end of that week any tweaking that needs to be done will be completed and the final version of the Constitution will be presented to the people for radification on the 26th.
I also call for the closing of nominations for all cabinet position within the next 48 hours. This provides enough time for any last minute runners to come forward.
Darkness' Edge I would request you take charge of running the elections for the cabinet positions in the manner you think will work best. I would suggest that we have the elections for thos positions completed by the 21st. This gives enough time for debate and discussion of views.
I welcome any suggestions to the proposals I have made. I have made the timing decisions based on the information I have seen in other posts and the original idea that our craft will make planet fall on September 1.
