I love to join games, you just have to explain me what is it about
Check out the forum for Civ ii or iii, they have a Democracy game game going. It's kinda hard to put into words but it is a very kewl concept. Count me in.
It's a game of Civ 2 where the players elect a cabinet to run the game. The President plays the game, the cabinet ministers run different departments, military, diplomacy, etc....
These ministers host polls and the citizens vote on what the president does.
This is how the game runs...

Okay, I got it. Should we keep the same constitution or adapt it to SMAC ?
Adapt. It not at least change the titles and terms to be more appropriate toward SMAC/X
Of course, has someone toyed with the idea of a multi-player democracy game with two 'nations' (in our case, factions) where the players would participate in either one or the other, and where there would be two 'presidents' playing the game instead of one?
Nevermind, I just answered my own question after visiting the Civ II multi-demo game. So, is anybody else joining or is this going to be a four member probe action?
so, is it only the president (or provost, chairman, prime function, etc.) who does the actual playing? the other people just sit here at the forums and give suggestions on what to do? i dont really want get into something i'll have to be playing SMAC constantly for.
Edit: i was thinking, would we need to make a custom faction, or just use the PKs? SMAC or SMAX?

I think we'd better wait till other people join the game...
Well, we need more people to join to get this thing off the ground, but that doesn't mean we should just sit by and do nothing until more people show up. Why don't we start working on changing some of the terms to be more smac/x oriented?
Instead of President, I suggest we use the appropriate title of the faction we'll be playing (i.e. Brother if UNP, Chairman if Hive, et cetera)
Assistant or Alpha Talent (i.e. Jeneba or Ota Kyi) instead of the Vice President.
i'd guess transcend, maybe huge map of planet, and maybe just change the UNP to Apolyton Forumers:
-1 efficiency-cannot communicate verbally
+1 talent every 4 citizens-Games make people happy
Double votes for planetary governor and supreme leader-->insert legitimate reason here<--
etc.
"Yay Apoc!!!!!!!" - bipolarbear
"At least there were some thoughts went into Apocalypse." - Urban Ranger
"Apocalype was a great game." - DrSpike
"In Apoc, I had one soldier who lasted through the entire game... was pretty cool. I like apoc for that reason, the soldiers are a bit more 'personal'." - General Ludd

How about something more artistic?
The Citystates of Apolyton?
The Apolyton Alliance?
The Apolyton Republic?
or heck, even "The Centauri Republic" (with appologies to Babylon Five)

Skilled at Courtly Intrique. After all, part of the fun of a Democracy Game IMHO is the semi-roleplaying aspect taking place on the forum of political maneuvering.
So, I think that puts our numbers at seven. For those with experiences at playing the civ demo games, approx. how many active members are needed to run a successful game?
