I presume the gaians would have the usual 48 hours after Monday? It seems only fair IMHO.

Like this is something new. I've had pages of posts where I and another person posting 2 minutes apart many times. Kody was just jealous.

I must say that I am certain that Monday is too early. Saturday seems better.

I would agree. They can't open the save before Monday (not that there is anything for them to look at) and then they will have their usual 48 hours to play it.

Would Wednesday work? Is there any specific reason that you would prefer Saturday? The first turn shouldn't involve too much. You can even decide your first tech later, I believe. And you don't have to have all the officials officially in office too for the first turn.

Let's guess that tommorow all moderators all decided (for Morgans and Angels). But I doubt it. Anyway, it will need at least a day for private forums to be constructed (if not two days). So let's say prvate forusm are ready in late Friday. During weekend most of Gaian are busy. So we have Monday, with nothing decided. We would need at least a day to transfer all data from off-poly site, + 48 hours to finish discsussion and 48 hours to finalize everything (there is a huge difference in timezones). Friday -we are ready with everything. So I added one day jsut in case. It seems fair, and it wouldn't definitely take any more time that this (infact we might be ready before that date).

Any yes, we do not have exactly any officials yet. So we need first to get officials for positions (which are too not defined) before we can get them to decide upon turn.

So you're saying you need a minimum of 10 days to play the turn? (Just asking for clarification, not trying to accuse anyone of anything )

I would rather that call an accurate estimate of needed time. Of course, you need to take in account that I am a pesimist and always prepare for worst. The real problem is that most of the team is unavailable during weekends.

While I recognize all the things you mentioned are very very important obstructor, I think you don't need to get them all fixed up before you play your first turn. Remember the first 10 to 20 years is going to be kind of quiet gameplay wise, since most probably diplomatic contact will not be made yet. And that would be the time when people set up internal structures, discuss about strategies, etc. You don't really need to finish discussions on anything and finalize anything before turn one. If everything is all set before you even start to play, you are going to experience interest level dropping again simply due to people being bored.

If you are the team leader, it would be largely your duty to organize what is the priority and what is more long term and I'm sure you would be able to get the Gaian team ready for the first turn before Saturday.

Well I don't really want to rush the Gaian first turn, as the first few turns are somewhat crucial to a long term game.

Perhaps we could compromise on a Wednesday start to their 48 hour period, that is one week from now?

I am not the team leader (stop it already). For half of the people I do not know if they are active, and for the other half if they will be active. Only current candidate for internal affairs doesn't even have adequate ISP now, and it is questionable if he will have it by tommorow,as he said. We do not have strong agreement on anything. I am attempting to organise priorities for six days now, and I have made very little progress, despite all efforts.

                            Good Grief!!!

We've authorized our Sparta turnplayer to download the turn, open it and play it within the hour

(what is there to discuss about that first turn? Whether to launch a poll to see if the Buster site is Ok for GL, or to move the Colony pods somewhere else ... or maybe to launch a complaint about no nut special?)

Gaia needs a coup pretty quickly, with a Junta established. We'd be happy to second an officer or two experienced in such matters to assist.

Sorry obstructor (for the team leader stuff ). It just slipped of. Guess I've always thought you as the team leader all along. Anyway, have you tried to PM Darsnan and others? Some may not check the forum as often and may not realize the game is about to start.

What are you insinuating? I have watched the forum, especially you stating that there wasn't enough activity in the Gaians and that you might have to withdraw. I'm trying to stop that. And in case you haven't reads my posts, I have had some quite important exams up until today, and so as I said, I haven't been that active.

Now, since I seem to know so little, please enlighten me. What is the situation in the Gaians? Is there enough activity? What can be done to remedy this? Also, why do you need to move everything to the Poly forum to play the first turns, that will likely have one or two moves? Of course nothing will be decided before the first one, last time we just put a poll on the main forum for our mod and first leader, and the first turn was simply founding a base and setting it up. Takes very little work. No team had official positions sorted last time, they just played at the begining as a tea, since there was very little to be done. I doubt anything much will happen in the first 5 turns.

If you feel you need the time, that will be granted, though I have to say I don't at the moment understand why. I do understand you have activity problems though, and any update will be greatfully received, either on here or by PM
