If somebody feels that things they said in the past may not be pleasant if certain other people read them, and so choose to edit them out. I do not see why they shouldn't do that. I'd view this reflects their good intentions of not making people upset unnecessarily, which means they care about the other people.

I did my best to avoid posting about specific people in the forums, I was very curious whether those people returned the favour. However, I guess I'll never know now.
So far I'm only aware of my own critism towards a player in one post made in the drone embassy after the whole "I'm actually a peace member not a cycon" thing. Aside from that I think I directed any critism towards cycon rather than specific players with my posts.
I understand, Kody. Think about it this way. The best one could hope for is for other people to completely understand him/her. But that is never possible. The second best one could hope is for others although may not be completely understanding and agreeing, but respect him/her enough to refrain from posting many comments that may sometimes feature perhaps unfair criticisms. The third one could hope is for others to understand him/her better with time and to realize that some of their earlier comments may not be appropriate and so choose to edit them. The last one would hope for is for other people to totally misunderstand him/herself, and to not care whether the criticisms/comments are true or fair.
We all want to know the entirety about what happened in the past. However what happened in the past IS past. We can still leave it in the past, even if we may not know the entirety of the past.

Oh one thing I found funny while reading the peace forum. Alot of the diplomatic messages the Hive sent the Peace were to do with our "team has stopped rioting" we're now open for trade. It sort of says how often Hive had internal problems.
Wow, apparently people thought that most trades I put together were really good. Although they had other reasons for not wanting to trade.
The only exception was when I attempted to trade with the Cycon. It eventually came down to begging my team mates to gift Doctrine Loyalty to the Cycon for free, because we couldn't find anything we really wanted. Ofcourse I didn't manage to get much support for that.
Now I find out that with both Peace and university we always got considered last with the tech trading just because we were organised contacted them several turns beforehand.
University:
I advise we answer them pretty soon, since they proposed the deal a few months ago and haven't heard back from us at any point, if I'm not mistaken. Still, I wouldn't accept the deal, and I would rather trade with the PEACE or the CyCon.

Oh can't we talk about this after I sue them for defamity. They had the planetary energy grid for a long time so they must be loaded!
Sorry, most funds went in Xchoppers...
CyCon might be convinced to let one of the remaining ones open some containers in your backyard when sunbathing...

- cycon, they leak information mainly through posts in public forums.
- pirates, we know they're up to something when hercules logs on looks around and logs off again without doing his turn. When the pirates got IA IB and IE within 2-3 years, hercules was logging in and out like a husband to an expecting mother.
- university, archaic seems to shun the boards most of the time unless there's some important matters occuring. Whenever something big is going down in the university archaic remains online for hours at a time. Otherwise he logs on looks around and is gone within 30 minutes.
