Discussion about SMAniaC in ACDGIV

I'm starting this thread for a discussion of using the SMAniaC mod(ification) in ACDGIV.

At the suggestion of Illuminatus, I posted a whole series of polls. There are clear majorities that ACDGIV be Single Player SMACX and that the player's faction be Believer (aka Conclave).

While SMAniaC got a plurality among the choices listed, there is reluctance about using a modified SMACX.

I support using SMAniaC because it changes the strategic options. Modifications, including the tech tree and the SE tables mean that the old tried and true strategies (particularly tech beelines) may not be the best strategies.

I'd like to hear from you and particularly welcome reasons why people do not want to play SMAniaC.

1. It makes the game more fun.
2. It makes the AI more challenging.
3. It's something different. Change is good for you.

I voted SMAniaC because I don't know it and want to try it.I hope partners help me to notice the diferences from the old SMAC.And Believers are still Believers,aren't they.
