  • Civ 6 resources list with pictures.

Tge purpose of this thread is to review which luxury and strategic resources are in Civ 6 and eventually to detail what each of these resources does when that information becomes available. So let us start:

This one seems to be bananas.

    Salt

Incense or clay. Not sure which.

Copper both in its natural state and after a tile improvement has been built.

    Cotton

    Horses

    Marble with quarry improvement.

Both whales and crabs in one screen shot.

Deer with hunting camp improvement built.

    Tea with plantation built.

    Cows (Notice milk icon?)

    Stone

    Rice

This one I am unsure of. It might be either oysters or a reef.

Some of the other resources have icons, too. I remember there being a resource view you could toggle on which made finding them easier when zoomed out. Don't know why cows don't get cows, though.

So I guess cows produce milk or dairy resources?

Or else, uh, you have separate meat and dairy cows? I mean, that sounds silly, but so did the GDR.

That video has a picture of the fish resource in the game though I have no idea how to get a screen shot off of youtube.

Simple. Hold down [prt scr] while in fullscreen, then paste into a graphics program - I did it just now with an embedded YouTube vid as a test to make sure. -I notice no play icon currently displays in the center of the screen when paused, so good news!

Also, apparently resource can show up on the vellum FOW. Here are Citrus, Cattle, and Fish:

I notice some shores are beaches while others are cliffs. I assume that limits some activities at cliff spots like embarkation or building a harbor.

I hope you're right, that would be a cool game mechanic.

that is how it is in banished. but i think that this would be a bit silly for a game on civ VI's scale.

hopefully, there'll be resources that produce more that one product, presumably by constructing the right building(s) inside a city.

Is this a Civ5-ish thing I should know about, or is this confusing to everyone else, too?

I kind of wondered too, but I couldn't think of a way to ask that didn't sound like I was snarking about the game yet again, and I figured I'd hit my limit.

Maybe it has an effect on Tourism, Culture, Happiness or something.
