OSX and mods

Hi!

I bought this game more than a year ago, on Steam for OSX. But I have not played it since I couldn't find a way to play it on a earth map with correct starting positions as I've done on every Civ game made for the last 20 year.

Can somebody help me with it or know where I can find a guide on how to do it?

I don't believe this mod works. I have never been able to make it work and I have seen other posts stating that it doesn't work.
