Themes - Axis
For those of us that do play the game, sometimes having a theme to play at can add interest. So I thought I'd post some as I go along.
The first one I did was the Axis (from WW II), games as Japan, Germany and Rome (for Italy). Using the same settings, played through the games to see who did better, and my quick impressions. Scores are relative, of course.
Japan 4809 Expanded in fits and starts, never really got a good momentum going.
Germany 5301 Took a bit to get going, seemed to plod along, but unstoppable once the plodding started.
Rome 6975 Legions and balista just kept going and going...
I think Germany had perhaps the worst starting position but overall Rome was definitely the clear winner.
Be interesting to see others' results.
Next up, the femme fatales, the female leaders.
