Moving on Up

King has gotten too easy so I'm playing my first game as emperor.

Any helpful thoughts?

So far it seems pretty much the same except Russia declared war on me close to 300 turns ago for no reason and still will not make a peace treaty with me. I don't even know where her lands are, and have never been attacked by her.

I moved up to Emperor a while ago, and it didn't take all that much effort compared to King. I had to keep more of an eye on research though, as it is easier to fall behind.

Lost one game and won one game. It seems that the biggest change is the AI gets aggressivly stupid. Wars all over the place. Fortunately with each other, not just the player.

Do they use better tactics?

tactics aren't driven by level. They always suck

In fact, I think the tactics are worse because they are more aggresive. They can't decide who to attack, so they split up their force between you and the other AIs.

Life at this level is basically always war and no trading. It makes it harder, but less interesting and really mono strategy.
