  • The one of many complaints about Civ 5 snd it's short comings....(STEAM)

Why , oh why, must I download over 500MB for this game when I bought the DVD; which supposedly has the game on it?

Never mind the matter that I hate Steam. But, why must I succumb to Steam and it's "log in" and "connect to the internet" for no reason other reason than for Steam to bombard me with requests to purchase things!

No, I'm not interested in game 'so-and-so.' If I was, I'd go buy it. I'm interested in playing the game I just tried to install. Quit trying to "add-on" amenities like a cheap car salesman! Just let me play the damn game already!

I want to play Civ5 I should be able to do so without connecting to the internet. What happeend to just being able to load a game from a CD/DVD and just playing it?

I'm so pissed about how you are forced to create a Steam account to play this game; just to make my self clear.

      I love Steam.

I was upgrading my laptop to WIN7 so I had to reinstall civIV which I had purchased on D2D. When I went to download their download manager, it suggested that I use the new GAMESPY console. Not thinking clearly I selected it. It make steam look subtle. Once I finished downloading and installing IV, I quickly uninstalled it. (the only feature I like better than steam)
