  • Apolyton Civ5 Competition

Are you an Ozymandias, king of kings - or does your grand civilization stand the test of time?

Two months after Civilization 5's release, we have all come to grips with the latest installment's game dynamics. The most glaring flaws and balance issues have been hotfixed, smoothed out, and patched. As such, the time has come to lull critique, take a step back, and simply enjoy the game.

Apolyton is hosting a competition for the best chronicle of a completed Civ5 game. This might be the most entertaining narrative, the most amazing accomplishment, or the most enticing report of events. It will most likely have to be a bit of each.

In the beginning the earth was without form, and void. We want to know how your glorious efforts shaped that initial tribal village into the earth-sprawling empire that trumped lesser creations, overshadowed inferior cultures, and fought historical battles. Who stabbed you in the back, which wonders did you discover, and what surprises shook the foundations of your civilization - until your efforts led to the rebound.

Please post your narratives in this thread. You can do this in a single post, or spread out across various as your game develops. Use screenshots or short videos to illustrate your occurrences. There are no strict rules - although in SP you might wish to avoid the archipelago map, due to the AI's vulnerability there. Should you so wish, the game can be a MP game.

The winner's story will be featured in the spotlight, so that his or her competence will be inscribed forever into the annals of Apolyton. Competition ends 12 December.
