'City' state?

In my game, I've allied all 8 City States. Venice is just south-east from me, while the Greeks are east. I've started a war with the Greeks and Venice gladly jumped in. And... now they've taken Rhodes. The CITY state Venice now is actually a two-city state

I love it though, cause they've been supplying me with a steady stream of food for the last 400 turns or so. They desirve it

Anyone else have this happen?

And won't it be funny to help a City State get 10~12 cities

At some point, they stop capturing cities (aside from mandatory captures). But, yeah, people have managed to help them get 6 or 7 city mini-empires. It's quite fun, the best I got was to have them almost capture a city. Unfortunately, I decided to make peace, so they did as well.

The most i've seen is 3-- after that they've razed their way through the enemy empire, much to my delight.

today I was using Paris as target practice for my frigates. My ally Copenhagen moved his riflemen and took to city. Great! Now I have an ally that can produce more units. I then move my ships on to farm xp from Frances second city. To my delight Copenhagen gets the message and takes that one too, giving me Pearls and much needed iron. I was over the moon until I realised Copenhagen had decided to burn the second city down denying me the resources.
