What is an Apolyton Arena Civ 5 Duel?

It's a normal civ5 multiplayer game, 1 vs 1, no city states, no AI civs, no ruins, no barbarians.
Both participants are members of the Apolyton Arena (active your account here).

The result of the game (winner and loser) will be registered at the Arena, and reflect on the standings of all participants. If you win a lot, you will be at the top of the list! If you lose a lot, like me, then you'll be at the bottom

I'd like to play some games, but off the record , just for practicing. I haven't even played civ4 multi (except pitboss games which are quite different).

I'd love a go but I am very very very poor at this so far. I am only just on the verge of beating the AI at Prince, shame on me, for the first time.
