I had one of those "People Who Love Pointy Sticks" things pop up, and the Ottomans were on top with a score of 25000 or so. My score was 1400 I believe. I don't understand why they left me alone, other than that I had been friendly to them the whole game.
Once I saw that, by the way, I decided it was time to throw in the towel.
Finally, at the end of my war with Catherine, he jumped in and attacked her. I was just making peace for everything she had - 4 cities. He swooped in, took Moscow from her, then immediately turned on me while my army was shifting.
I was able to pull back to a choke point near my home territory, but he got all of her cities. Watch him. Don't trust him.
Side note: He threw his forces at my chokepoint until his economy imploded, then I beat him into submission, and liberated/gave back all of his conquered cities. I recreated the Russians and French in the process, then promptly won a diplo victory. (My first ever!)
Once/if the war AI is improved, I can see this being an awesome game.

specialists are on the right of the city screen. When you build a specialist capable building a circle will appear next to that building on that list. remove a citizen from a tile and then click on the circleSafer worlds through superior firepower

Ah, I made it to the middle ages, but either didn't notice any specialist capable buildings or maybe there aren't any that early? I dunno.Captain of Team Apolyton - ISDG 2012

I played all the way through my first game before I figured out the specialist thing. It really helps.
One complaint I think is very legit for this game is that the documentation does a terrible job of helping us understand the improvements and changes. This not only discourages those who want to love the game, it also fuels the fires of those who want to hate it.What's up, hot dog?

Yea, I agree 100%. The Civilopedia is near useless. Even for simple things. Like I had a sheep resource, I wanted to find out what it would do when improved. No info on mouseover. So I looked up sheep, it didn't say. I looked up pasture and the civilopedia entry was really nothing more than "an enclosed space for animals" Wow... thanks for the help.Captain of Team Apolyton - ISDG 2012
