Forum rules and Moderation

These forums have rules and are moderated.
Ming, former co-owner and member of Apolyton since the very beginning, a true Apolyton Legend, has positively answered to our request to moderate the Civilization V forums, assisted by me. DarkCloud will also moderate the "Stories and Diplomacy" forum. All please live up to the Rules* and enjoy your stay.

Oh! The owners are from Netherlands? I didn't know that... Weren't you Greek, some years ago?
Some of my ancestors come from Holland. Long story, beginning with some members of my family being barbecued in Portugal and running away to Holland. Then, Johan Maurits van Nassau-Siegen had invaded Brazil, and took with him a lot of artists, bankers, architets, musicians and etc... Like civ. Lots of fun!

Back to the subject, I hope you, moderators and owners, don't be too harsh with the trolls... I expect to see a little trolling in the civ fora, because... Well, they need to do it and, I have to confess, it's amusing... Nothing too hard, of course!
But I like to see every time a civ is released, how the threads becoming flaming wars between "this game is broke, and if you don't see you are an idiot." and "are you insane? This is the best of the series! And if you don't see that, you are an idiot" and so on.
I've been here for 8 years, and I really love that.

The site was originally founded by MarkG and DanQ, MarkG is Greek. (DanQ is Canadian). Later MarkG left, Ming, rah and Locutus became co-owners (with DanQ being the chief co-owner). A couple of years later they handed the site over to Jeroen and me, who shared ownership with Rutger and Arno. The four of us are dutch.

I agree... a little trolling is to be expected, and yes, it is entertaining. But, if it does get out of hand, and people start making every post a personal insult, then action will be taken.

Everybody is welcome to their opinion on whether they like the game, or think it's broken... or whatever, just keep it civil.

Why act like an adult in a computer game? That's the most ridiculous thing I have seen suggested so far. Someday we should meet so you can see how incredibly different I am in real life.

Personally, I don't inderstand why a character like DriXnaK is allowed to plainly violate most of the above stated rules.

Well, apparently DriXnaK does not violate the rules. "Hate speech based on sex, sexual orientation, race, religion, age, disability will not be tolerated". So it is OK to do a hate speech, as long as its not based on the above mentioned grounds.

So, I take it back. Go ahead and insult everybody you want, because you can!

And judging people by their post count is typically something I would expect from a spammer like you....

Spammer? You should look up the definition of the word spammer. Furthermore, considering this is a forum and no one is forcing you to post in my threads or read my posts, it's amazing to me you go whining to a moderator about it. On top of it you even use the word "hate speech?" You seem like some Eurocommie to me that thinks he should never be subject to anything offensive. Hate speech is a word coined by Scandinavian socialists as a means to impose fascist anti-free speech measures on people while making it sound like they are protecting people.
