International Release Dates

Hey everyone,

Civ V brought me back it looks like. Is Lancer still around? I'd love to ask him some questions.

Anyway, to the point: Is there any resource to see when this game should be coming out internationally, or specifically when in the Philippines? I don't trust the local shops to give me a straight answer, and I think I read that I can't use steam? I'm really out of the loop.

Whats this I hear about Steam not working outside of North America though? Would it be at all possible for me to buy it that way and play online or is this restricted internationally?

Steam works fine outside the US, have no worries.

ok, that decides it. First thing I do when I get home today is download steam and see if I can get Civ downloading.

If you are outside the US, you will only be able to play the demo though. But you can buy and preload the game already today.

I'll be able to preload it now and then play the full version on the 24th I assume then?

Yep. Preload away. Only thing is there was a day 0 patch yesterday. I'm not sure if that is part of the preload for the ROTW release. It wasn't for the US version. Also, I think preorder bonuses is not part of the preload, but I might be wrong there.

The Steam idea failed. They won't let me pre-order or purchase at all, it keeps giving me a frustratingly generic error. I've contacted support but I have a feeling its because my billing address doesn't match my IP. Gotta wait for the brick and mortar copy

have someone in the US buy it for you with your card details on your account. Once it is there it will unlock, or so I hope as this is what I did. Publishers actively discrimitate the real rest of the world.
