Some last-minute PC Preperations...
Hey all,
Just thought I'd let you know what I've been doing to help pass the time and prepare my PC for Civilization V...
1. Clean the crap off the system, I use CCleaner, it's free. Not only does it clean out the cruft, but it also fixes the registry issues that can also cause performance problems.
2. Uninstall any unnecessary or unused programs, done simply to add a bit more room for the swap file. If you've got plenty of disk space, might not need to.
3. Defrag the hard drive. A definite must.
4. Run a disk check for errors. These errors can cause serious performance problems.
5. Run a spyware / adware removal and virus scan.
6. Update Windows, especially the graphics drivers! I get my Nvidia drivers straight from nvidia.com
