Is health gone in Civ V?

I haven't heard health mentioned anywhere, and I can't see it in any of the screenshots, so I fear it might have become a victim of "streamlining"

I really liked the way health was implemented in CIV IV, so I will be very disappointed if it has been removed - surely it wasn't too complex ?

It appears to have been removed. If I had to guess, I would have to say that it was not because it was too complex, but rather that it did something that two other systems already did: it limited growth & city size. Happiness and available food from worked tiles already do that.
