  • Explain Civ V to me

What's so different? Are they bringing back the foreign adviser from Civ II?

I see something about hexes, which means they finally took my advice from ten years ago. Keep your answers in bullet point format. My time is too valuable to waste with proper grammar or punctuation.

    • I guess your time is too valuable to read the many threads discussing and giving exactly the info you're requesting?

Yes, that was the implication. You're demoted. Next?

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

                Allegedly:
                • tiles produce gold and/or science, instead of commerce that sliders distribute
                • no religions
                • no tech trades, but allies help research
                • "social policies" (no idea)
                • cities have 3 hex radius
                • no "road spaghetti"

What does "no religions" mean? Were there religions in the other games? I mean, I built a lot of temples in my day, but they were mostly non-denominational.

Civ IV had a "religions" feature with christianity, buddhism, etc. Each religion was founded by the first civ to discover a particular tech. They mostly offered the same benefits as the generic religion buildings in previous versions of Civ but they also affected diplomacy, and one of the founder's cities became a holy city where a shrine could be built that would generate income.

Yep. Buy and play Civ IV BtS, then you can try to develop scientology into a world dominating religion. You can pretend you're Joseph Smith Jr.
