Not specifically about Civ V, but I was thinking...

Imagine a Civ game where you had the different parts of running an empire divided up, for example: Domestic, Trade, Military, Diplomacy, etc.

Think the way a game like Tropico or SimCity works for the Domestic part. A game like one from the Total War series or Hearts of Iron for the Military part. And so forth.

Each branch of the civ would be handled by a different player, so you must work multiplayer coop to have your civ running well. Teamwork would be essential and it would be fun to play against other ai teams or human teams as well.

I just think the teamwork aspect would be fun and it would also be cool to go into even more detail for the specific role you're performing and really specialize in one.

    Just thinking out loud...

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

I don't think there would be any money to be made in a game like that, so I doubt we'll see anything similar in the near future.

I dunno, it's not actually a bad idea. Key would be developing actually good AIs so that you could have a useful game with the computer running all the other parts of your nation.

          Here is your solution.

A Demo game is exactly what your talking about, and I am sure a Demo game will get started here at Apolyton. There will also most like be an MP Demo game. An MP demo game is where several teams of multiple people breakdown the government however they see fit, then disscuss dtrategy and what to do each turn in incredible detail.

The big problem with games of this nature is that they take a VERY LONG TIME. The first MPDG was played with Play the World Civ 3. Lots of fun, but if your team looses after a two year game, it feels like such a waste of time.

The best part of MPDG or DG in general, is you learn more about the game than you would playing all by yourself.
