Why is there going to be no religion?

On the upside the first expansion pack will probably bring back the religion feature. It is such a good game feature I just don't see them not including it at some time.

No, yes (though it's not an "either or" situation), and sometimes.

With the "sometimes" part. If I started sid's sushi company but didn't have seafood of some sort (maybe clams but no crabs or fish) and then I spread my sushi corp to cities which had those resources would that mean my cities with Sid's Sushi Company outlets would now get access to those seafood resources?

No.

I assume the cities you spread to are cities owned by another player or AI (because otherwise the question makes no sense). In such a case, spreading the Corp to them will actually reduce the change you can trade to the AI for the resource (on the dip negotiations screen, just a normal trade) because the AI will want to keep the resource for the Corp. benefit.
