Woke up. Got coffee. Launch IE. Find myself in a new Forum!

    Wow, Wiglif, that was fast!

So, what y'all think of the new digs and neighbors? How will we use this main Forum (All thing Apple, general- but not OT PC/Mac stuff, flame wars )? One thing is for certain, the over post count for the Mac Forum is more respectable; strength in number!

edit: OPPS! wrong Forum! I meant to post this in the main Mac Forum and not the MAC-AC sub-forum! Could the appropriate Mod move this please?

I don't understand what difference this would make? I mean, Civ3 will be the exact same game on either platform, wouldn't it? Or will there be differences that justify a separate forum for Civ3-Mac?

Before you get bent out of shape with your bigotness, I used to be a Mac user/owner from 1985-1995.

It's a power issue. We just wanted our own forum

Beats the hell out of me. I don't particularly care one way or the other. What's done is done.

You apparently don't recognize the smilies MacUser employed in order to get the "mood" of his posts across. A question for you: How many smilies does a person have to put in their post in order to *guarantee* that others will be able to discern the mood of the poster?

          Blowin' in the wind...

How many smilies must a person...? The answer, my friend... what?...oh, someone did that already.

Actually, it was more than just MacUser, which I've known for awhile, but a few folks in the Civ3 clamoring for a Civ3-Mac forum. I just don't think it makes any sense at all, unless there are differences I don't know about. Just curious or blowin' in the wind.

            Steve Clark,

there are differences between macs and pcs, which I believe is the central idea behind this change. Civ3 Mac will be different from its counterpart in the issues of system requirements, release dates, modpacks, etc.

            And we aren't bigots.

              ( for the song!)

After typing a LOOONG winded reply only to have IE crash TWICE in a row! I'll give the short answer and a link. I addressed the original purpose for the Civ2-Mac Forum in the Apolyton Forum (about midway in the thread). The bottom line is that new programs have problems and bugs to work out and a Mac specific forum for CivIII will help us get the problems fixed and the patches quicker. That answer wasn't nearly as entertaining as the first, but there it is.

Back to Topic: how should we use the General Forum? Are general Apple/Mac threads fair game or should we stick to Civ/game-related topics?

BTW, Thanks to the Mod for moving my Thread! Who is the Mod for the general/main Mac forum? MarkG?

IMO we should talk about both general apple and civ in this forum. That way if you have a problem with your computer (like my little aol confusion going on in another post), you can resolve it here, and also get civ talk in the same general area.

Then again, if you and/or markos are against an OT-ish mac forum, then you should set the guidelines before I break them anymore.

Guidlines are designed to be broken

I agree with Wiglaf; it would be convenient to be able to post general Mac issues here, and not have to go to (gasp) some other forum.
