  • Civ 3 for mac???

Ever since the dawn of Civilization, macs have been privy to the game of the same name. I've bought both Civ 1 and Civ 2 for mac, and I have always thought of the Civ series as being generally pretty mac friendly. I mean, both Alpha Centauri and the expansion pac *eventually* made it to mac too so now I'm hoping. . .

Will Civ 3 also be available for mac? Right now the mac market is overflowing in stupid fps, but not enough strategy! Not only would you be making a bunch of money but you'd also be making a lot of people extremely happy Sid Meier!

Being made by MacSoft as I recall. They said they hoped to have the game ready when the PC version was released but we have heard Mac release in February and PC release this fall.

It is supposed to be released in february, but I'm sure that it will be delayed at least a month and a half.

Blackstone, you seem to have posted La La 's on a lot of threads. Interrogative into the meaning of these.

Admiral, it's spam. Ironically in his attempt to hurt the forums he managed to bump a few pretty good topics here and there .

yeah, civ3 is coming for the mac in february as of now. I doubt there will be a delay, but since I haven't been following Westlake over the years I wouldn't know their track record.

            Release date?

Where is everyone getting "Feb" as a release date? All I've seen is silence form MacSoft and Westlake. On the other hand I don't spend a lot of time in the Civ 3 Forum so I probably missed an Earth shaking announcement. If so could someone post a link to the announcement or relevent thread?

Okay, after searching the Civ3-General forum and reading all thread with the word "macintosh", I STILL can't find a reference for a Feb release date. The only thing WestLake has posted it that it is in "early development"; not terribly encouraging.

                So, links anyone?

No! The last thing we need is a namechange to PCUser!

                  I believe this link'll work: http://apolyton.net/news/arc7-2001.shtml

It's only a vendor date, but it's all we've got to go on as far as a release. They tend to be pretty accurate, though - unlike Westlake, which can list games in "early development" up until their release...don't be too concerned if it looks like they aren't doing their jobs.
