I'll be gone for a week, too, after he gets back, so expect things to slow down again, but, hey, we did pretty well this month comparatively:

June 3 start of game. (turn 2101) -> September 19 (turn 2129) = 28 turns in 108 days = 3.24 days per turn

September 19 (turn 2129) -> October 7 (turn 2137) = 8 turns in 18 days = 2.2 days per turn

At this pace we'll get to turn 50 (at least in my book, an important psychological marker) by the end of the month -- even with the vacations.

In PBeM #3 and PBeM #4, Illiria, Rue and I have consistantly been able to play 1 turn/day. Sometimes up to 3 turns/day on the weekends. In comparison, this game is glacial.

Ash: Glacial, but at least it actually *is* moving again. I had my doubts for a while there.
