I took out Svensgaard again, achieved a cooperative victory again, and the game crashed again, this time error 2.
I replayed the turn. First I broke the pact with the Drones, took out Svensgaard, did not achieve a cooperative victory, but the game did not crash.

The imposter Svensgaard is gone and now it is every man for himself. Good hunting.

Have you reduced the credits.txt file? There was this one bug that made the game crash when you win...

I have not reduced the credits.txt file for smac nor smacx. Should I? How?

Use Simple Text and delete the "PC beta-testers" credits from the SMAX credits.txt file. That should solve the crash problem.

Killjoy, the credits.txt file in smax contains two lists of beta testers which appear to be identical, but neither of them is labeled "PC beta testers". Am I warm?

just delete any lines out of credits.txt, it is just too long for SMAX to display it. Brad mentioned deleting the PC beta testers since they dont really "count" for the mac version, but if you dont find them, take anyone put your own text into the file, mayb esome chapter from the bible or whatever

Rue: I deleted the second list of beta-testers. Once deleted, re-save the file, and presto! You should now be able to complete the game without crashing. Good Luck!
