Alien Crossfire Soon!
Just released in Aspyr's newsletter:

Yes, that's right Sid Meier's Alien Crossfire (SMAC X), the expansion
pack for the renowned and award winning Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri is
currently in the works and moving along like a cheetah on wheels, with
conversion being done by Brad Oliver, of Westlake Interactive, who also
did the conversion for Alpha Centauri.
"We are pleased to be continuing our relationship with Electronic Arts.
We enjoy working with Sid Meier and the great folks at Firaxis and we
are very honored to be releasing Alien Crossfire, for the Mac, very
soon," says Jeff Baietto, VP of Marketing.
As mankind struggles to colonize an alien planet, upheaval looms as two
alien factions and the original inhabitants of Alpha Centauri, do
battle in the skies above humanity's new home. As survivors of the
alien war fall to the surface, human factions must choose whether to
band together to fight the offworlders, or side with the alien factions
as a means of preserving mankind. Diplomacy or War? The future of the
planet is in your hands.
With seven new playable factions, great new gameplay additions and a
custom faction editor, SMAC X doubles the gameplay of Sid Meier's Alpha
Centauri. This is a must have add-on for every Alpha Centauri fan.
Please note that you'll need to have the full version of Alpha Centauri
to take advantage of SMAC X!
"New to the game is the ability to play with the 7 original SMAC
factions, the 7 new Alien Crossfire factions, or any mix of the two
groups. That's pretty cool. I'm really enjoying playing Alien
Crossfire. I find the two new Alien factions to be a very interesting
twist, and the pirate faction (and the associated rule changes that go
along with them) bring a new depth to the game," says Oliver.
Westlake is also working on a patch that rolls in all the bug fixes to
the core gameplay that are found in SMAC X. "Many of these bug fixes
will appear in the Mac versions before the PC version!" says Oliver.
