        CELEBRATE!!!!!

        MacUser, et al.:

It's time to rock n roll, break out the party hats and pop the champagne corks!!!

Now it looks like I might have to buy a new iMac or at least upgrade my OS ... oh well, that's a small price to pay for Civ III on the Macintosh!

You mean you need and excuse to buy another Mac?
I don't suppose I'd be able to convince my wife that because of Civ III I'll need to upgrade to a G4 minitower with an Apple Cinema Display (especially since I'm already using a G3 minitower and a 19" monitor). She'd probably argue that we need the $5000 to help pay the mortgage or something silly like that.

The next big question is: will we have to wait several months for it?

Mmmmmmm. I was looking for an excuse to upgrade the G3 Minitower to a G4 Minitower.

                  Excuse my ignorance

I've been playing civ2 on pc for awhile now, but my pc is starting to get bogged down with programs and such and thers no plans to buy another one anytime soon.

I have an older mac, a powerpc 6500 and it's got hardly anything on it. I'd love to be able to put civ 3 on it when it comes out. So my ignorant question is this- can you play MP with people of different OS? And if so, do you need a patch or something? I know finbar plays mp civ 2, so my assumption is yes, it can be done.......

Do we know what the minimal OS is? I'm still on 8.1

I play lots of multiplayer whit PC players (I am currently involved in 6 scenario Pbems in the sleague and the spanish civ 2 forums all whit PC players, I must say that playing a scenario multiplayer against its designer is lots of fun ), as long as you have the mac version of MGE it will work fine (make sure you download the latest patch as well though).
