  • Help! Game shuts down when Apollo is built

    I am double posting this here in case someone is aware of a Mac OS issue with MP and building Apollo. I am on Mac OS 9.1 and have been hosting the game from the beginning. I use Civ 2 Gold version 1.1.1.

    Since November 27th the Monday Night Diplo Game players have completed 17 sessions. We have had the occasional connection issues, but have always been able to overcome them.

    In the year 1895 AD the Apollo wonder was built. Right after we get the message saying that it was built the game shuts down!

    Our best guess is that the game crashes when it is trying to update all of our maps with the pictures from space.

    We restarted the game twice and each time it shut down at the same point.

    Has anyone else experienced this problem? Do you have a suggestion on how to resolve the problem?

    Nope.Never seen that.Kind of a major problem for you.

    You could try having whoever built Apollo go back and load it up with just him/her.Build Apollo and stop and save right there..ala PBEM.Then load it up in normal MP fashion.
    This might be bad for others if the ai does anything to civs.Shouldn't though if you have a save RIGHT before the player that built Apollo and that player does not progress any further.
    The only thing that matters to me in a MP game is getting a good ally.Nothing else is as important.......Xin Yu
