  • mac mods and scen's

I don't have a a Mac, but a friend does have Civ II on the mac, and was upset to discover he couldn't use the star trek mod on it.
What mods and scenarios are available for the mac? please give locations.

HEY! Sounds like a request to me! Please post the exact name, author and location (if not on the ACS Data Base) of the Star Trek scenario and I'll take a stab at converting and posting it on the the ACS Civ II-Mac webpage! I went on a quest for a Lord of the Rings Scenario and finally learned to convert to play it. So I feel your friends pain! Currently there are modpacks, scenarios and instructions on the Mac page. Also see the Mac-Forum thread on using "PC" scenarios and modpacks: Try playing an NONCONVERTED PC Scenario/ModPack. A lot of the scenarios on the ACS Data base can be play without convertion or very little conversion. Currently, I am working on posting more ready to play modpacks on the Mac page. Be sure and have your friend load this Forum to view topic older than 10 days. There is a lot of good info here!

Allright! The star trek modpack I found is at www.monroe.edu/KG/CIV/CIV.htm
I don't know if it's on the civ2-mac webpage, I don't know my way around acs that well yet, heck of a site!
I'll check out those links you posted, pass them on to my friend.
      Thanx

        Father Beast:

I tried to go to the page you specified, to have a look myself (I'm a big Star Trek fan), and the surver told me it dosen't exist. Unless the scn. is very complex, it shouldn't be too hard to convert; but the address needs to be fixed.

Unfortunately, I can't get the file to start downloading! I also have the same problem with the ACS DB. I have tended to blame traffic on servers, but I'm beginning to wonder if AOL is interfering somehow. I'll try again later and also send a note to the author telling him about ACS. His modpack is not listed in our DB.

The Star Trek mod for MAC seems to be available in The First Greek archives/Macintosh

                Macuser:
I posted the solution to your downloading problem on the Downloading Problem String (Click Here).

See if this works (It does for me). I will warn you, however, that the scn. in question is 2MB, and the text will take forever to load onto your computer.

                  Coming Soon...
I'm almost finished with a new modpack, "Spheres of Influence", which takes place in China at the turn of the century. It includes the Boxer Rebellion and the Russo-Japanese War.

I'm also about to start on "Our Dumb Century", a mod based on the bestselling book from The Onion. (If you don't own it, buy it!)
