  • RoN or EE2?

Just waiting for Civ IV to come along and want to play a game, don't feel like playing Civ III so was thinking for buying a new game unless I can find my CtP2 disk.

What game would you guys suggest? Ron Gold edtion or EE2 and why.

I have tried both demos and wasn't too impressed with them but some of that could have been because I didn't know what the short cuts were and I couldn't pause the game wich annoyed me immensly.

Can you start both games close to nothing and start from there like any other Civ type game or are they scenarios, I don't like scenarios too much.

I just want to start my Civ early and build from there to the end of time( or till I get defeated.)

I have read the reviews but they all say awsome game and I trust your guys opnions and would like why it's good or bad game and what features are good or bad.

    Thanks Davor

I prefer Rise of Nations. The city boundaries are clearer, the economics are simpler and there's no need to build transports for non-naval units. You can start at any era.

OTOH, the worker manager and war plan features of EE 2 are quite innovative, The manager cuts down on micro-management.

I haven't tried EE2, but I do like RoN... also a nice "feature" in the game is the pause mode, in RoN you can actually give orders, build, etc while the game is paused, not many RTS games allows this

Also it's easy to mod if you want a game that takes a longer time to finish
This space is empty... or is it?
