Civ is harder than school, even 30 years ago. I'll bet most of you are confused after your first games of civ4, it seems like they'll be lots more coices on which direction to take a civ.

I think Civ is more difficult than school.

When I was at shool I just sat at the back and paid very little attention. Nothing difficult about that. I am sure most of the people on this forum would be quite capable of sitting at the back of a room and not listening.

OTH Hand Civ actually requires you to pay attention and acually do things.

        speak of chesterfield virginia...
which oddly enough is a microcosm for the rest of the US right??

        wrong..

look at the education system of large cities
where a large population of america is situated
        like los angeles
        where i went to school
        it sucked, it was awful
        the dropout rates are high
        pregnancies occured left and right
and lack of funding really made things bad
and the amount of students that actually
        took school serious
        was real low
but highschool was easy enough for me

and i doubt civ4 is tougher then Berkeley

I became a hardcore boardgammer in Silicon Valley in '91. There were lots of programmers who found games more challenging than their work. A 10 hour board game or a 100 hour civ game can present more challenges per hour then an 18 month product development cycle.

When I was first playing civ3 at Diety, I freaked out to see how I was behind in techs, it's not easy to figure out how to deal with that.
