  • Where to get Colanization

Anyone know where to get colanization or at least do somebody know how to make it work in windows xp

  • #2
I get it to work in XP just fine. I have the sound options turned off (no sound), and have a basic MS-DOS icon on my desktop that takes me to c:\colonize. I didn't even have to mess with the compatibility options.

Would you mind sending it to my e-mail then? (ehcoj@hotmail.com)

Why would he send you copyrighted material?

He just told you how to get it to work.

No, he didn't. He just told me that it worked on his PC. There are more kinds of colanization. Windows-compitable and DOS-compitable

Considering he's running it in an MS-DOS compatability mode and typing C:colonize, I'd say he's running the DOS version.

If you are running the Windows version then you are still screwed.

The windows version is available at the site where subservient canines live.

I remember getting it to work on Win XP - it wasn't all that hard.

An authentic version can be had off ebay for around $20 US including international shipping.

Changing the windows version to 'run under 256 colors' in properties might get it to work, and there are also emulator programs around...

Have tried all the settings but doesn't seem to work. Therefore I wanted to try another version

It runs fine on my XP machine, but I have a separate machine for playing vintage games. It´s a IBM 486 running Windows 3.11

Colonization for windows aka WinCol runs fine on xp,you dont even need compatability and its completely stable for me (p4 2.5 gf4 4400ti 1gig ram)

It can probably be found on "home of the underdogs" as Asmodean sort of hinted
If you cant find it there i would be happy to send you it but it would be up to you to track me down in irc as i cant send it by e mail
