I've had civnet for quite some time now, though I just use it to play hotseat with my family. I have heard rumor that it's not very good over the net, but I cannot confirm.

i tried to play it over the internet with a partner from another country under win98se - i did start the game and the other one did join after a while (i was host/server - i think)
i did get a stack overflow after a hour of playing (or like that).

will this patch
