So is Ircle. Fire supports IRC which is what Ircle supports. Isn't that what you were after, something to connect to IRC chatrooms?
Fire also supports AIM MSN and ICQ IIRC.
edit: from Ircle's homepage:
Ircle is a Macintosh (only!) program to use IRC (Internet Relay Chat). IRC enables you to talk with typed messages, in realtime, to other Internet users around the world. IRC is organized in channels on a specific topic. You can also talk privately with someone. On average there are 100,000 users and 10,000 channels online on the big IRC networks.

Here's an index of IRC channels. Just put one in Fire, connect, choose a name, and you are away.
Ahhh. forgot the link.

Open the "accounts" window (you can have this automatically shown if you want - in preferences) if it isn't open by going to the "Accounts" menu and selecting "Edit Accounts".
Then hit the "+" button. Type in the name you want to use and no password(it doesn't matter). Then type apolyton.net in the server field and make sure the port is 6667 (it should be already). Then take the account online by selecting it and clicking the online button (same window).
Then go to the buddies menu and click "add".
Enter Apolyton in the buddy name list and the name you want to use in the next one. Then select IRC and **default group**.
In the buddies window it should show you connected and you just click on the buddy (in mine it is "Agathon" and you are in. Here's a screenshot:Only feebs vote.
