This is great news for Apple. The specs I've seen for the G5 are pretty impressive. If these chips can scale effectively, Apple should be competiting head to head with PCs for the forseeable future.

well he used a rumour and hit by accident (!) the ball , ......
but read the hot mac news , you shall see that panag has mentioned that this fall or at the macworld of next year jan or feb the latest we shall see a new cpu , ....
they are working on it , that no big secret but in this case it was not put up by a hacker or so , he just copied shamelessly the page and added the specs himself , ......

The screenshot was fake. But the stats posted inadvertently on the Apple Store's site were true. Jobs said so. Did you not see the keynote?Only feebs vote.Comment

caught it only from the snippets from the web, amazes me that the leak even occured(still wondering how though). the great thing is that this powermac is a tremendous advance from the g4 powermacs(curse moto).Comment

The stats were not posted anywhere on the web prior to the leak. No one knew what the configurations would be although most people knew the G5 would be introduced and it would use the PPC970 chip.

since our office is going to a major program in buying new comps , the mac people told us to wait in april , we asked why and they showed us the new specs and configurations , .......
