  • multiplayer problem

    hello,

I have started to play ptw in the multiplayer section.
My problem is that when i join a game i have a message saying that my firewall doesn't allow the connection.
I have the last windows version and use mcafee as firewall.
Although I configurate mc afee to let ptw communicate freely,
    it doesn't seems to work
    Can someone help me ?

Try to manually completely disable the firewall before you play and see if it makes a difference,

I have the same problem but have tracked it down to my isp's end. I'm currently engaged in a battle with NTL's technical support to try and fix the problem.
One thing I came across was you need to allow gamespy to access the internet as well as directplay.exe (or other file extension?) If you use mcaffee to give these programs access as well it might fix the prob. also windows XP has a built in firewall that you can disable through the settings menu. Find your internet connection icon and right click. select properties, advanced, and make sure the tick box for the firewall is deselected.
        hope this helps!
