  • Question about nation colors

Hey everybody!!......I made a custom map which is 320 x 320 and play with 24 players. The problem is that there are 2 or 3 nations with the same color. Is there anyway to assign custom colors or some sort of logos so that I can tell the difference?

Also, on the same custom map, I have the science rate at 400. Should that be lower or higher?. I can't remember what the number should be.

    Thanks in advance,

In the Civ editor you can select civ (or "tribe") colors from a pre-set palette of 32 colors, some of which are very similar. Anyway, find this on the Civilizations tab.

Sorry, I can't advise you on the science rate setting.

Yes, at that map size you should have it higher. You'll end up with more cities and so more research potential, which might make your new techs come along to fast, especially in the later game. Unless of course you don't mind launching a spacecraft in 1776 AD! I don't know what to recommend, you'll have to play test and see what works. Start with an extra 50 or 100 and see how it plays out.

I forgot to mention that the map is PTW with the 1.21 patch.

thanks Purple.....I will check that out.

Willem......I have played 3 games so far with this custom map and noticed that the AI players really seem to keep well ahead of me in science. I'm playing on the emperor level and on pre PTW patch 1.29, I used beat emperor level all the time. So I guess the 400 is too much for the AI......but you know it is turning out to be a fun map to play.

It's not to much, it's to little. The higher the number, the longer it takes to research a tech.
