Can anyone explain why workers/settlers are not airliftable? Is there some bad AI reaction of does this fugger up strategy or something? Seems like a pretty odd standard considering you could in civ2...

Some have theorized it's to keep players from pop boosting newly captured cities with airlifted in workers and / or settlers, which would apparently reduce the chanceof flipping.
I have airliftable workers, and have seen no bad effects from a bug / crash PV.No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Maybe there is a realistic aspect to this difference. Workers are upposed to consist of 10 000 people since they are equivalent to one population point. Military units are supposed to consist of less people. (What about draftees then?)Last edited by Optimizer; February 28, 2003, 07:53.The difference between industrial society and information society:
In an industrial society you take a shower when you have come home from work.
In an information society you take a shower before leaving for work.

As far as workers being about 10 000 ppl - if an infantry unit is supposed to represent a Division or so, it would be anywhere from 7000 to 12000 ppl, so if you can airlift that you ought to be able to airlift workers.
