  • A Supreme Court Building?

To help reduce corruption. Maybe a World Court Building could be added as well. How about a Police Headquarters building? I have no clue how to make them myself, just hoping to inspire someone who can.

I had this modded in my v1.29 game. It put a courthouse in every city and 3 people happy in the city it was built. Made it only available for Democracy. It worked well.

I added the "Provincial Government" edict. It's an invisible "improvement" since I don't have any graphics program and I wouldn't know how to make custom graphics anyway . It reduces corruption, but has a high upkeep.
"When we begin to regulate, there is naming,
but when there has been naming
we should also know when to stop.
Only by knowing when to stop can we avoid danger." - Lao-zi, the "Dao-de-jing"

Youre Steven Hawking as far as Im concerned, I cant even do that (switches on giant blinking neon 'LAMER' sign over head). Im sure there are already two similar buildings out there and I just have to get off my digital duff and do a search for them.
Unconquered: something like Great Wall that would double effect of all existing courthouses would be good too.

Unfortunately, the only doubling that can be done at this point is happiness.

When you say reduce corruption, do you mean as the courthouse and police station do it, or as the Forgotten Palace does it? You can do either with a Great or Small Wonder, but a 'courthouse'-style corruption reduction on either kind of wonder as the primary effect is a bit of a waste.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

I guess I wasnt really well thought out when I sat down and started typing. What I started out trying to say was that a new FP type building is needed to combat corruption. Then it kind of morphed into something you would put in each city to help the courthouses. Either one would be helpfull. How about if Civs could develop something analogous to the F.B.I to root out corruption, and once researched, it lowered corruption throughout the entire empire?

You would still need to have a building to do that, though that shouldn't be a problem. Have a new tech, say "Bureaucracy", and tie the "FBI Office" (or "Secret Police HQ", or "IRS Maximum Fun Chamber", whatever) to it. There is no limit to the number of corruption-decreasing improvements AFAIK, though you're sure to hit diminishing returns at some point (if corruption is already at zero, you can't make it more zero).

Well, I decided to throw my usual caution to the wind and try monkeying around with the games innards. I tried to make an FBI building to lower corruption which had as a prerequisite "Criminal Forensics". To make a long story short, the civlopedia crap drives me crazy. After awhile I gave up trying to figure it out and clicked away to greener pastures. Isnt there some utility out there that edits the civlopedia stuff for lamers?
