Whenever I launch civ3 ptw it crashes with an error message that makes me close can anyone help plz?

This happened to me once when for some reason a corrupted file was installed. Try installing it again.
I also don't know if this might be the problem but what version of DirectX are you running? I think Civ3 needs 8.0 at least.A true ally stabs you in the front.
