World Creator not working right

I have made several games and I selected the Pangea as my landmass type. I chose the Pangea picture with the least water but I still get islands and separated continents. It is starting to @$#% me off. All I want is one big land mass so if someone wants a piece of me they can come get some. Is there something I am doing wrong? Can I edit a map that I am already playing? You know. . . just add a little isthmus here and there? I have looked high and low for a thread that answered these questions so if it is redundant I apologize for not investing another half hour looking.

You can use the edotor to generate a pangea map, then edit the way you want it to be. Save that as a scenario and load it as such through the opening screen.
