  • Does the 'Add' button work in the editor now?

...or do I still have to fiddle with a half dozen files before there's something new under the sun?

This is for PtW, if it makes a difference.

    Thanks!
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Add has been working since 1.29f (maybe 1.21f... I'm not 100% sure of when it got working) for Civs, techs, resources, improvments and units.

        not so fast...

...sure, the new unit, civ, whatever will show up in the editor, but the game will crash unless you fiddle with the text files correctly. I'm going through that with my mod adding 3 new civs and some other changes.

adding terrain still doesn't work though, I believe.

            Yeah, I discovered that.

I managed to get city improvements to the 'testable' stage by pointing them to other building/wonder entries, but I see this is going to take some time.

If you want graphics for your new improvements in the city view screen, you'll have to go to CIV3PTW/Art/City Screen and add some art work in Buildings-large.pcx and Buildings-small.pcx.

                Thanks for the tip!

So all the buildings are in a single file? How does it know which buildings go with which scenario -- or do you have to provide a new file for the scenario?

It just keeps going down the file in order until it reaches a new graphic. I've included them with some extra fields for more icons.

Sorry, missed the last part. Just include an Art/City Screen folder in your scenario folder, the one with the bix file. You might have to add the name in your scenario path in the editor, I'm not sure.
