  • having the INI file point to external files in PTW

If I have a unit in the PTW\Art\Units folder and want it to use a file from the 'normal' Art\Units\unitname folder what do I need to do? Something like this?

    - ..\..\..\Art\Units\filename.extension

I'm just asking because a Crossbowman unit (located in the PTW units folder) crashed because it couldn't find SwordmanFortify.wav, even though the INI said ..\Swordsman\SwordmanFortify.wav.

Yes, it is relative to the locatiion of the ini file, and nothing else.

      Erm...what does that mean?

I'm presuming that ..\ tells the INI file to go up one folder in the structure, so is this correct?

      - ..\..\..\Art\Units\filename.extension

Ye. .. is up one level and . is the same level (You'll never understand the meaning of that one, but you shoule be able to wirte .\.\.\.\.\.\..\.\.\..\.\..\.\.\.\.\Art\.\.\.\..\.\ Art\Units\.\UnitFolder\.\filename.extension instead of ..\..\..\Art\Units\UnitFolder\filename.extension just to make it look really advance

Wouldn't it be a lot less confusing to just copy the files over?

Right, but eventually that will just take up loads of disk space

Hard drives are dirt cheap these days. And doing that will make it easier if you post your scenario for downloading, especially if you move all those units to your scenario folder. You'll be absolutely certain that the person getting it will have no problems.
