  • Can I get a 2nd leader when I haven't used my 1st one ?

Small question, I hope it's the right forum.

Point is, I got a leader (which I haven't spent yet) quite early in my "battle for the continent", and being the militaristic Persians I haven't got a new one, although extensive warmongering.

Is it just bad luck ?

IIRC you only have one at a time. If you use him to build an army or to rush build a project in a city you will be able to get another.

    So long...

Pioneer is correct. You can have only one leader at any one time. As soon as you use it up to hurry something or create an army, you can get another.

Nope, can't have 2 leaders at the same time. You can have 2 leaders in the same turn (I had), so use ASAP the first leader (army, FP, wonder, etc) and then pray for a new one

After you build the Heroic Epic your chances to get a GL increase from 1/16 to 1/12.

The why does the military advisor screen have a box that says "Available Leaders"? Or does that change in PtW?

The chances to get GL are 1/16 and 1/12... interesting. What are these odds with a militaristic civ?
I'm not a complete idiot: some parts are still missing.

The same. Being militaristic improves chances that your units will be promoted after victorious battles. You will thus be - hopefully - fighting more battles with elite units, which indirectly makes it a bit more likely you will get a leader. But considering every elite battle separately, the odds are the same irrespective of whether you are militaristic or not.

Oh... that was new to me...

My first game as a militaristic civ yielded about 12 leaders overall... In my previous games the maximum I got was 2 leaders... Maybe I just got a bit lucky (and warmongerish... )

Well by producing more veterans you increase you r chances for getting a leader. So it helps indirectly!

Because if you don't use your leader ASAP for a wonder or army or whatever, he is available and will appear in the military advisor screen. Until you see an available leader there, you can't get a new one.

You're right that it shouldn't write "leaders" but "leader". It's either a typo or they changed their mind (about number of available leaders) after the screen was done.
