  • Adding new Civs/Improvements???

Can anyone give me some guidance on this issue? For the past few days I've been trying to figure out how to add more civilizations and improvements to my game. I bought the PTW pack, and since that includes 8 more, I'd like what I create to be compatible with PTW, meaning those 24 + the number that I create. I saw somewhere that the game will support 31 civs? Anyone know anything about that? Right now I have renamed the Iroquois and Zulus and it works fine. But I guess I'd rather have more playable ones if I can. In the Civ3editor I added the Portuguese and the game wouldn't start b/c of some error. That's when I went back and renamed those 2.

I also am trying to create a couple of improvements/Wonders: museum, mall, Olympics wonder and National museum (small wonder)...when I added them I got that I was missing info in my pediaicon.txt form. I'd rather not rename existing improvements, but I have found info for doing that. Right now if anyone can tell me how add completely new civs and improvements to PTW I would be oh-so-grateful. And adding corresponding graphics too....although I'll take it one step at a time. Email me if you want mjd260@psu.edu

The easiest way to add new improvements is to use the Civ3MultiTool, and copy an existing one. This will create all the entries the game is looking for, usually. After that, you just open the scenario in the editor, and set your parameters etc.

I have had the exact same problem with creating new units and buildings (http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...threadid=66610) as well as civilizations (http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...threadid=66609).

I will check out that Civ3MultiTool, Willem. Thank you for the advice.

Although I recommend resaving your mod (map file, modified text files, modified art files) as a backup on your computer just in case something like Civ3MultiTool should mess up things and you would want to check out what you had originally intended.
