I'm using 1.29 on a modded game. I downloaded various units. Suggestions?

Yes, and not just in Civ It's a fairly common programming type error. Does it repeat every time at the same place?

Somewhat, always right before my turn starts. I can make it to about 2300-3200 BC before it hits, but I never know when its coming. Its not a certain unit, advancement or building/wonder that I can tell.

So maybe the Civ3 Install and/or Patch Download didn't set up right? Off to experiment...

I've had the same thing before. I started a new game and it ran fine, so I assumed the game that crashed was corrupt.

You're right. I started a new game without the mod & have no problems well into the Industrial Age so far. So it looks like I will have to remake my mod. Hopefully it's just the *.bic file & not something else hiding somewhere.

For those curious, I found out what caused this - new WonderSplashes. The crash always happened when a new wonder *with a new image* I put in was built.
By default, Adobe Photoshop saves images as RBG color mode when changing them from into *.pcx files. Civ3 will only accept Index color mode for Wonder Splashes.

To follow on this thought, Civ3 will only accept Index color mode for any graphics.
