  • F****** inexplicable mess

Was having problems downloding the mod 'the Balancer XP 3.1. So I first femoved the 3.0 file still problems. So I uninstalled PTW(because old balancer mod on that disc). Still problems. So I attempted to uninstall and reinstall CIV3- from the game screen it went through the motions of uninstalliing, but to quickly, and when I checked the files it seemed everything was still there. So I attempted to remove the program from the option on the control panel. It asked if I wanted to install the program. I tried to run the game, and nothing happened. I reinstalled PTW, tried to run the game, and nothing happened. I want to break things. I am no kind of computer genius, so please, if any explanations are offered, use as much every day parlance. Thank you.

I suggest you find the specific Balancer mod thread and post this there.

why would this have anything to do with the balancer mod, the game isn't working at all.

        ok

        1. have you tried running the games uninstall from the start menu? I think run the PTW uninstall, then the Civ3 uninstall.

        2. reinstall Civ3. Reinstall PTW. Download patch 1.04. Perhaps even if the game doesn't uninstall, a reinstall would overwrite the bad parts.

If that stuff doesn't work, go to the dos prompt and type format c:

just kidding of course, please don't do that! if that doesn't work, check back here. good luck, I've had more than my fair share of glitches with computers

if you mean going to the control panel to the add/remove program section, then yes, I have done that a couple of times.

            what OS are you using?

Left click on the start menu, then go to the infogrames folder. then the PTW folder. there is an uninstaller there. use that. if that fails, then i suppose you could just delete the directory from my computer, but i would first try copying over it.
