  • Resouce depletion

If you plop a city down on a resource - such as Iron - will it be depleted just as fast as a roaded resource? Faster? Slower?

What about a colonized resource? Seems to me that I read somewhere that a colonized resource doesn't deplete quite as fast.

    TIA.

I think those are all illusions, the resources should all disappear at the same rate.

This is a reason that you might not want to plant a city on an iron hill, just to keep a supply unroaded just in case your other supply runs out.

Resources disappear according to the number entered in the editor, location, or whether it's a colony or a city makes no differerence. The only thing that matters is whether there's a road to it. In the case of Iron, every turn there's a 1/600 chance of the resources disappearing.
