  • What's colonizable?

Is there a list of what resources are colonizable and which are not? Obviously the gold resource is not colonizable - leastwise I haven't been able to do it.

And whilst on the subject - can a colony be fortified?

Only STRATEGIC and LUXURY (in other words: tradeable) resources are "colonizable". Gold is one of the BONUS resources, which can't be colonized - bonus resources add their bonus only if being on a worked tile inside some city radius (even if not roaded)...

You can fortify a unit on a colony, and you can build a fortress there for added defense (I presume). But you can't fortify the colony itself because it isn't a unit and it has no defense of its own.

        That answers my question. Thanks.
