  • I may change Civ3's Interface.

I'm considering changing Civ3's interface entirely. Not to something wild and wacky, but to something more professional.

But before I begin, I wouldn't mind reading some suggestions.

I really don't like the look of some of the multiplayer screens and the espionage screen - for that screen I would like to make it look more professional and also fit the topic (like it kind of is now, just not not so messy looking).

    Less yellow would be nice.

How about a marble effect? Understated, but still noticable.

Marble sounds good. I enjoy your work Snoopy, and look forward to it.

It would also be nice to have a Presidential office look to the screens, to make you feel like your in a 1950's government parliamentary house of commons/white house.

You could have a leather bound book for the city screen, maybe a spies photo for aerial/map screens.
The science screen should be tarted up too, each age should reflect its own style if possible.

It should be possible to design a interface style for each age and culture type, and just reload the new type with a special program when an age changes..

That's a great idea AdmiralPJ, but is it actually possible to have a different Interface for each age?

Marble is a lame cliche' trying to be classy. I wouldn't mind a matte colored windows format for all it matters, just stop trying to make it look ornate - it looks tacky

The thing is Zylka, the Romans used marble a lot, we still use it today for the same reasons as they did. It's the best one to use that demonstrates the image and feel of power and authority.

Admiral, I can do the graphics and would like to, but I am not a programmer, so until someone does that, I won't bother doing all the graphics..
